Beautiful Nightmare

Aren't these a little creep? They look like like different scenes from the same nightmare, but something about this spread was somewhat pretty in my opinion. Sometimes things can be so ugly to the point of pretty. I actually liked this shoot beacuse it was very surreal, it reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, and the dresses were just amazing! Oh and im still wondering how they managed to get the skeletons so high up in the air.

Yay! I have finally finished my magazine dress! It took me this whole weekend to just staple all of the pages together.I've never sewn any clothing before accept for buttons so it was twice as much of a hasle using just a stapler and duct tape for the inside. Well next time I think I will go to Charlotte russe and buy a bodice or something and then paste or sew the magazines on to it.I think it would be alot easier to have a mold to start with.Well hope you enjoy it.Oh yeah and I must give credit to my older sister for modeling it for me even though she was in a rush to go to work.

Anna Sui

If I had to pick the collection of New York Fashion Week that was the most wearable for young girls it would be Anna Sui. All of her ensembles seem to have this sort of vibrant, young, and tribal aspect to them and I think that is what makes Anna Sui collections so appealing. I really loved the accessories at this show the shoes, the masks, the hats,they all added a little bit of fantasy to the already young and whimsical collection. All in all, Anna Sui never disappoints.

"Manic Panic" @ Cythia Rowley

At New York Fashion Week I must say I seriously adore the hair and makeup at Cythia Rowley's show. The bright colored hair extensions, the textured pony, and heavy eyeliner.I just loved it! I remember seeing this "manic panic" concept on the runways of Rodarte and Anna Sui and it just seemed to add spunk and attitude to the whole ensemble. Oh! and the extensions at Cythia show were real hand dyed human hair! Way to go all out.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN 1969-2010

One of fashions most exquisite minds has passed away today. Alexander MCqueen was just 40 years old and seemed to be reviving British fashion. Isn't it a strange feeling when you find out a well known individual has died? It's very shocking even if you don't have a personal relationship with that person. Although MCqeen was a very private individual, his collections seemed to serve as a window into his brain. His clothes were the perfect marriage between a dream-like state and a sci fi movie. Sleep peacfully Alexander.

Also the whole dress doesn't have to be covered in sequins. You want to look like a glowing godess not a disco ball. You've probably heard but just in case you didn't here it goes. TV's most fascinating fashion show,Ugly Betty, has unfortunately been canceled. It seems that they couldnt be saved by a different time slot and their ratings have dropped by 50%! Well who knows maybe a new stylish show will surface. Where one door closes another opens.
